Stage 2 ‘Do you want to be a GP’
This course is suitable for candidates preparing for the Stage 2 ST Assessments.
Our enthusiastic team of General Practitioners are running specially designed one day courses, to help you to prepare
for the GP application process and Stage 2 Assessments. We will provide you with all of the information and techniques
you will need to get through the Stage 2 assessments successfully. The day is crammed full of useful information and
pointers but we also try to make it enjoyable for our delegates.
We will cover the following topics on the day.
Session 1
- Overview of the GP ST assessments. Tips on how to prepare and impress the examiners!
Session 2
- The Clinical Problem Solving paper.
- We will cover all of the types and level of questions that you will face on the assessment
day and provide you with a structured method to answer these questions. All candidates will sit
a Mock Exam under timed conditions, to replicate the actual exam. This will be followed by a
feedback and interactive session.
Session 3
- Professional Dilemma / Situational Judgement Test paper
- We will provide you with all of the guidance needed to approach this type of exam
paper. We will explain how to rank scenarios, work through sample questions and also
have a Mock Paper, which candidates will sit, under timed conditions. This will be
followed by feedback and discussion. The questions cover all the competencies that
are expected of delegates including: Good communication skills, confidentiality,
teamwork, professional integrity, empathy
Session 4
- We touch on the Stage 3 Assessments and provide information and guidance for the Group work, Simulated consultation and Written exercises.
The GP Topmarks one day course will include refreshments, lunch and a comprehensive revision handbook to take away.
